Technology
Intraoral Camera
This little technological wonder not only saves time, but it allows you and Dr. Woods to get a clear and precise look at your teeth. The tiny camera takes pictures from the inside of your mouth and relays the images to a computer screen. With the intraoral camera, problem areas can be easily identified, and it can give you a greater understanding of procedures while you go over your options with Dr. Woods.
Rotary Instrument
Dr. Woods keeps abreast of the latest technology by using what's called a rotary instrument in some of her procedures. Particularly with root canal therapy, Dr. Woods can use this tool to thoroughly clean and prepare the areas needing treatment. It's one of the many ways of ensuring comprehensive and state-of-the-art care here at our Chapel Hill practice.
The Wand™

The Wand™ is a pain-free local anesthetic delivery system that is controlled by a computer. It numbs only the problem area, not the tongue, cheek, lips, or face. This allows you to resume all your normal daily activities right after your treatment!
Bose Headphones
Sometimes the noise of dental instruments can be more unsettling than the procedures themselves. That's why Dr. Woods has installed a Bose Headphone system. Listening to music can block out all the ambient noise and help keep your mind and body more relaxed throughout your treatment.
Air Abrasion
A drill-less technique to remove tooth decay, air abrasion uses compressed air to shoot a mixture of particles at the problem area. This quick procedure reduces the risk of chipping or fracturing the tooth, and leaves much more of the healthy tissue behind.
